…… David Field! Congratulations from your friends at Foto Care.  We asked David how he felt after learning he was now the proud owner of the H4D40:

“How do I feel?”

” I feel great!  haha.  I feel more justified in the amount of money that I spent executing each challenge.  Little achievements like this keep one’s morale going which is important these days especially”

Enjoy shooting with your brand new H4D40 – we look forward to seeing the new body of work. For those not familiar with the HassyNYC Challenge or David’s work, we are re-posting a slide show of his visually stunning images below.  Three cheers for David!

Your Chance to win the new Hasselblad H4D

Posted by Foto Care Editor | Posted in Photography Contests / Events | Posted on Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Its not too late to get involved in a fun, interactive photography contest where one lucky winner will walk away with  the Hasselblad H4D camera.

Hassy NYC celebrates photography, community, and the all-new H4D-60 camera system, a revolutionary new camera that will change the way you think about high-end photography; and the way you work and create.

Hassy NYC Challenge: Join. Challenge. Shoot.

This post is the first of a four-part series that features the photography of three leading photographers that participated in the Hassy NYC photographic adventure. Meet David Field, Victoria Will and Robert Manella, three talented NY photographers that were up to the challenge. Below is a sample of their work.

The Experts

Inspired by the premiere of the new H4D system, Hasslebald challenged three leading NYC photographers to make the most of their H3D camera. During a three-month campaign (December 2009 through March 25th 2010) Robert Manella, Victoria Will and David Field were assigned various photography challenges and shared these experiences via HassyNYC.com, Flickr and Twitter.  Here’s an example of some of the shooting challenges:

  • Landscape Challenge:  Landscapes of Central Park using 35-90mm zoom lens
  • Portrait Challenge:Portrait or People Shots using 120mm lens with open Aperture
  • The City that Never Sleeps: Capture the pulse of New York City After Dark. Choose your own subject matter. It could be people, architecture etc.

The Community
During the three month campaign, anyone could join in on the fun. The Hassy NYC community was invited to participate in the campaign by (1) commenting on the activities and work submitted by the 3 featured photogrpahers, (2) submitting their own photos for each challenge, and (3) adding challenges they wanted the three photographers to undertake. Best of all; when joining to be part of this new community of photographers, you were automatically entered to participate in a drawing for the chance to win the new H4D camera system.

The Work

All photos for the HassyNYC Challenge 2009 are displayed at  http://www.hassynyc.com/, on the Hassleblad Flickr account, and will be shown at the Award Event to be held in NYC sometime in March 2010.  The web site features photos from The Photographers and The Community.

Below is an introduction to each of the three NYC photographers, and the slide show above is a sample of the work from the experts and the community. Stay tuned for the next blog post that will feature each photographer’s unique vision for the challenges presented.
